    I would see how it sounds after replacing the speakers you ordered. From everything I have read, those are most likely the culprits and the mids are usually fine.     Are you putting the PowerBass in the rear doors or the front? When you talk about front mids being shot, those seem to hold up well, they are a 3" speaker that I haven't really found a replacement for.

    Are the factory crossovers in the door? Can you access them when you have everything apart?

    So, I am guessing if you replace the head unit you cannot use the existing harnesses so you avoid the amps? Does anyone know where are the amps located?

    What year do you have? I have a 2002 and Amazon says that the wiring adapters won't work on my year.
