My wife's 2wd 07 with the AHC never did have a pleasant ride. Once the bags failed I swapped them over to coils for $200 with used ebay parts from a 4wd with towing package. It sits about an inch higher but the ride quality is great now. I honestly don't think toyota did the math right with the AHC.
I had a similar issue with the air ride on my 2007 crapping out. I sourced 4wd towing springs from a 2005 on ebay. Seller threw in the isolators for free and it was shipped to the house for $200. It wasn't too hard to install and now this thing rides so much smoother than even when the air bags...
