JTS14U here, I'm new to both Squoia's and Overlanding. I have a beautiful Black Gen1 with 209k miles.

My first question is advice on tires. How big is too big without body lifts?

Hello JTS14u. I just installed BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A LT265/70R17 which is a light truck class and I love them. They look great and ride solid. I have a 2007 Limited 4wd all stock. There is a very slight rub in full stop when turned right I think, not enough to even deal with, but I assume that this might be about as big as I would go without issues.

Thanks so much for the feedback! That was very helpful!
My '07 Sequoia is lift approx. 2" I've decided to go with what they call Pizza Cutters, likely Falken Wildpeak A/T3W - 255/80-17's (33" dia).

Anyone on out there gone on the Western TAT from Moab NV to Oregon? My 2 boys, 1 w/ '07 Sequoia and 1 w/ Gen2 Taco, are going on it the first week of September'24. I'd really like find some people I could get some tid bits from.

Hey jts14u, I may be too late if you have already bought tires but I'm just seeing this. In my opinion I think these rigs really need a small lift to look right and will give you extra clearance and allow for bigger tires. My old shocks were shot so I put on Bilstein 5100s which gave it a nice 2.5 inch lift or so. I wanted a tad more rake and rear strength for towing so I replaced the rear springs with the Old Man Emu springs and that added 2 inches or so to the rear which looks perfect. This allowed me to go with BF Goodrich 285/70R17 to fit on my stock wheels and they look great. I did have to add spidertrax spacers to avoid rubbing on the UCAs but maybe I'll add new wheels someday with different offsets so I can ditch the spacers. If you have not watched Josh's videos at 1stgenoffroad.com yet, check them out. Super helpful
