LED Strip light DRLs.

Has anyone put LED strip lights to use as daytime running lights/ additional turn signals? if so what brand do you recommend and how did it turn out. Is it possible to only have the strip lights as my DRLs? I have an 01 limited and no matter what I do the DRL don't turn off and I wouldn't want the OEM DRLs to interfere with these lights.

I ordered some off ebay along with some 10cm LEDs and looking to install some projectors in my stock housing probably within the next month or so. Shouldn't be a problem with the DRLs and could tie into it without any issues.
