Time for tires on my stock suspension 2005 Limited and I'm noticing quite a few nice looking and well priced current model Tacoma 17 x 7 six lug wheels becoming available most likely as "take offs" from new trucks. I haven't looked into offset or back spacing on these wheels but I figured I would check here first to see if anyone had any insight weather they will fit my Sequoia before I do the research. I plan on pairing them up with Hancook 275/70/17 Dynapro ATM which I also ran on my 2000 Land Cruiser and was really pleased with.

If they won't fit I will consider using my current 17" wheels. Looks like someone in post from last spring installed the same tires on a stock suspension truck with no issues.

Well I got the answer and in the interest on folks who may wonder the same thing in the future, here's what I found. The current 4 Runner wheels share the same offset as first Gen. Sequoia wheels but most are only 7" wide rather than the 7.5" width found on most factory upgraded limited wheels from the 1st Gen. era. Offset on Tacoma and Tundra are different. There is a fantastic websight I found that lists all of the original factory offsets and dimensions called hubcap haven. I would post link but I'm a newbie and site won't let me post links yet.

Super helpful!! What tire size did you end up running?

I'm looking at the TRD 17x7 from the current model 4Runner. Doing my research on what to run now that I'm coming to the of my current tire's life cycle.

Cheers!!

I've got a set of the Tacoma/4 Runner "SEMA" wheels about to go on my 05' with 285/70/17 Falken Wildpeak AT tires, as well as the OME 2" lift suspension kit. I'll post up pics when I have it all done.

I just put on new tires and wheels and suspension on my 2003 Sequoia SR5 2WD. Put on 17" x 7.5" 2018 4Runner oem wheels. Installed Bilsteins 5100. Put the front perch to the 4th notch. Still using stock springs and wrapped up the wheels with Hankook DYNAPRO ATMs 275/70/17. Only minor rubbing at full lock. 20190306_173010.jpg
