Bought a 2006 Sequoia that had been in an accident and tripped the driver's air bag and seat belt. I'm sending the seat belt and control module off to be reset but have read mixed replies as to whether I need to replace the crash sensor or not. It was not damaged in the accident, so is it still good, or does it need replaced. Some of the answers I have read say that it needs to be replaced while others say the crash information is stored in the control module which is why you need to get it reset, and that the sensor is just a dummy sensor that sends the crash (shock) info to the control module and that its fine to reuse. Anyone have knowledge as to whether it needs replaced or not? I've already purchased the replacement steering wheel airbag.
