That dual light set up looks awesome.

Thanks! I’m still finishing it up, but it’s coming along well.

Makes me wish I had picked up more skill at welding. Then again, I’d still need a lift at my house and since we’re moving I won’t be adding that soon.

Nice to see someone taking the time to restoring what others would call beyond repair. Excellent work!

A lot of good life left in this rig! I’ve cut out all the bad stuff, preserved what I didn’t cut out.

I hope to get a solid 5 years out of it....then we will see what I do.

Figured I’d post the update here....wrapped up the dual battery setup, accessory power distribution, automatic battery isolator with manual shunt.

All done, and been out on a couple shake down crawls. I’m going to do front wheel bearings, getting a growl up front on-road.

Great job on the rig. Does the safari rack block the sunroof as it appears in the pic? Does it create wind noise like my hard shell lockable cargo carrier does on the OEM racks?
Love your pic of the back hatch up. I bought my 01 in 03 when my kids were small and loved the third row seating because I could put one kid in each row. Now that my kids are in college I ditched the third row completely and installing a drawer system kinda like a decked system but mine is gonna be out of wood with 4’ drawer slides to put all my tow gear, Offroad gear and tools.
I have 4’ from rear hatch to back of 2nd row seat plus I can fold the second row forward and it will allow me to add the detachable front section of wood to extend to bottom of 2nd row folded up for more storage and maintain same “floor” height as rear.
I take mine Offroad like an overland rig and love the look and convenience of the Sequoia capabilities.

Hey, thanks for the compliment! The rack does partially cover the sunroof. The sunroof is still fully functional, you just see the front 12” or so of the rack.

As far as noise, I was pleasantly surprised to find it makes very little wind noise!

This rig is a toy, though I do drive it often to keep it exercised. It’s set up for overland, hunting, camping....whatever else I want to do with it...lol

That’s basically what mine is also you just have spent a lot of time to make yours super nice. So glad you are sharing all your work with the class.
if you could please share the rear coil spring part number you used. I need to get a pair for mine since I have that Carolina squat after front lift. I was waiting for 1st Gen to get the dobinsons lift kit back in stock but man I waited a long time and after talking to dude he said they are back ordered by months. OME are great springs. I’m in a local jeep club and I know a lot of guys that are running them. That too is a toy, well it’s a trailer queen.

Hey, I apologize, I totally forgot about getting the OME spring number for you.

The rear springs are OME 862X

I love the ride, still rides nice and comfortable.

I'm loving the build!!How did you mount them and do you have pic of how you did it. I definately want to me doing this

Hey, thanks!

The pods are mounted in there independently. That is, the clear pods are mounted directly to the inside of the bumper opening, yellow pods are mounted to the metal bumper with some simple L-brackets I customized to make work.

Nice set up on the dual battery. I just did one with the second on the passenger side. Wish I had seen yours before doing that. Might still rework it to match yours. Question, what size batteries did you use and what support did you add, if any, to the edge closest to the engine? Nice work!

The black bracket you see in the pictures is a custom dual battery tray put out by a fab shop called Lampson Fabworks, I met him in the FB group (TSOR). Good guy, quality stuff. That tray supports both batteries.

I have a group 24 (stock size) for the start battery.
I have a group 29 DC for the aux/house battery.
