This is awesome! I saw your truck on Facebook and it made me want those rims.
What made you go toy tech vs dobinsons or OME?

I have wanted to try Toytec since doing my first build (4th Gen 4R). Now that I’ve had my hands on it I like it! Solid quality, everything went right is as it should.

Made some more progress....

Finally have the ass end put back together. All the little patch panels welded in, primed, seam sealed, then 2 coats of Duplicolor bedliner. I also got the bumper cover back on, but didn’t take a picture of that...lol

Did you use any certain wiring harness to match the original JBL receiver in order to make that receiver work?

Finally got to installing my new side cargo window vinyl. Got 90% of it on without issue, but screwed up the last let where it curves around the back....

I have already ordered a new passenger side graphic to replace the one I messed up. Gonna have an experienced person install them when the new one comes in.

We have had a couple nice warm days, took the Sequoia out for a short drive and a car wash...

Yes, got flamed to death over it on FB.

Good thing is that it has to be redone when the replacement comes in. I’ll correct it then.

Awesome Awesome Awesome bro ! I have the 2002 still stock, 238,000 and climbing. Looking at your work inspires me. Great detailed repairs and really good clear pictures. I hope to do half as good a job on mine.

All the best

Damn close now folks....

Rust-belt brothers and sisters, this rusty crusty bird is an example of how they can be brought back! Determination and effort (and a few burns and bucks) can get it back on the trail.

Still have a couple small pieces to weld in, but I’ll have this wrapped up this weekend, alignment on Tuesday, ready to wheel by next weekend!

Lol, you’re not lying...

My next build will be sourced from the south

What a great restoration! What rear springs and shocks did you use? I'm looking at switching from the air to springs.

Hey, thank you! It’s been fun, glad to be at the point where I can wheel it when I want....lol. I have started on a custom spare tire carrier swing, I’ll post those pics up soon.

Rear springs are OME, came with the kit from Toytec (I’ll get numbers off of them). The truck rides great, I’m very happy with the way it drives.

Front bearings done (they were definitely the source of the front end noise), ECGS bushing done, waiting on new wheel speed sensors before wrapping up and test driving.
