Bought October 12th 2022
$6000
184,000 miles I have no idea where I'm going with this build, I think I'm just going to randomly throw upgrades at it forever.

All stock, fresh off the lot-

The post that don't have pictures or any more information in them yet are incomplete and I'm waiting on the parts and/or the time to complete said project.

Radio upgrade-

The stock JBL sound system is pretty crackly and shot.

I bought a Sony double DIN head unit and some Kicker 6.5" drivers.

Speaker install to come later.

Cheapo bull bar-

Of course I have to be cliche and get a light bar of some sort.
I debated on getting a license plate frame holder, But in the end I chose an El-cheapo single hoop bull bar.

I know that the consensus is that these actually do more harm in an accident, but I wanted some form of front accessory.

I ended up not installing this because I was unable to get the bolts off of the factory tie-down/tow hooks.
I used penetrating oil and a 4 foot pipe and they wouldn't budge.

Aftermarket "blacked out" headlight assemblies-

My headlights are all very foggy, so I went with some aftermarket blacked out (not smoked lens) headlight housings.
Then I'm going to put some screaming hot halogens in there.

Bough a throttle controller.

Hike It brand, on sale for $101.40.
I'll update more about it when it arrives.

Here's a video below where I show going through the models and then accelerating with the "HI" mode.
In the video there was no change in throttle input (I actually let off the throttle a little bit), switching from Eco to HI really does make you jump up in throttle input that much.

I was cruising at about 25 and when I hit the HI mode I was legit going like 55 in a span of like 3 seconds, I had to let off.

When you take off while in the HI mode from a stop it's basically burnout mode
I mean I didn't sit there and do on break stand or anything, but you would be hard-pressed to not to smoke your tires while on this mode.

The other modes are "sport" (also significantly increases the following response but gives you a much more subdued throttle response curve), "Au" which is a learning mode, OFF which is stock mode and Co which is cruise mode (I assume it reduces the crazy RPM increase when your vehicle drops a gear while on cruise control?).

The Eco mode also states that it would be good for offroading, I agree as it subdues the throttle significantly and would help with RPM control while bouncing up and over obstacles.

I installed a new Subwoofer setup!

This is my first real subwoofer system, that hasn't been an "all-in-one" prewired sub setup or a little low profile box.

SPECS:

-Prefab Ground-Shaker 2x 12" down-firing sub box
Designed to behind the seat in 2/3 row SUVs
(model GS-THDFP212B)
-(2) Sundown Audio E-12 DVC 2ohm
(voice coils wired in series and subs wired in parallel together = 2ohm load)
-D4S JP8 monoblock amp
(800ish [email protected]/40w per sub)
-0 Gauge wiring to amp

This thing fucking thing SLAMS!

Obviously my obnoxious videos don't give it justice, but this is (short of going to SPL competitions) the most stupid loud subwoofer system I've ever heard.

I may have gone a bit overboard.

Videos-
Rock music test
EDM music test

Here's a video of the trail up to our family camping spot.

Nothing too extreme, shallow water crossings and some rocky, muddy, lead covered uphill sections.

The video doesn't really do it justice (since I'm holding it out the window it doesn't look all that steep) but it's probably at least a 25⁰ incline.

Updated above☝️☝️

I installed a subwoofer system.

And I found a set of those hard to find mythical tail light guards too.

THIS PICTURE BELOW IS JUST FOR REFERNCE.
I'll post my own pictures up once I get them installed.

These are sick! I've been looking for something like these. Do you remember where you got them?
