Unanswered 35's on a first gen? How did you do it?

I see people who say yup just a little cutting and others who say don't do it, there's a lot of noise out there on this. I have an '03 sequoia limited 4 wd and will be lifting it either with a toy tech Boss kit or with a tundra Icon stage 1 upfront and a scab together custom icon in the rear, haven't decided yet. Either way it's gonna be basically a 3" lift. I would bewailing to do a 1' spacer or body lift to get more clearance and I'm willing to cut if it doesn't compromise the trucks integrity. I don't want more than a 4" lift overall I'm trying to get the clearance of the 35"s with the lowest c.o.g. I can get. Has anyone done this and if so how did you do it, and how did it come out?
