I replaced my 2008 Sequia Platinum with a 2018. It took a couple of months to get one in the color I wanted, but here it is. It comes with lots of chrome and some ugly fake wood on the interior.

I will post my "build" progresss here. I put the build in quotes, because I wont be doing anything too crazy. First step is the chrome delete. I already pealed off massive chrome accents off the doors.

Man that is beautiful! That color is awesome. How does it drive compared to your 08? Steering, suspension, etc.. just curious if they feel the same or not. Looks great man!

Thanks, If my memory is correct, it drives a little smoother and stiffer than my 2008 did when we first got it, and definitely better than the ‘08 with 180k miles on it.

Western Mass.
Beautiful Truck.

I traded in a 2011 Platinum for a 2018 TRD Sport and man, I love the truck. I’ve got about 10000 miles on it and my mileage is way, way better than the 2011.

I hope your treats you the same.

Mods made so far:
Tint front windows
Rims XD775 Rockstar Matte Black - painted the chrome center star black
Bed liner Black out all Chrome (rear gate trim and Toyota Logo, door handles, side view mirrors, upper grill and logo, lower grill and lower fog light bezels, roof rack
Rustoleom paint the rear hatch latch and bumper bolts (these are rusted on my 2008)
Front and Rear dash cam installed
WeatherTech mats
Removed chrome accents on doors and "Platinum" logos
Pro-fit Cellphone mount
Fresh Water washdown system in that space near where the jack lives Version 1. (it works, but its ugly. I will post details when I finish ver2.0).

I added front Amber LED's similar to the ones on the Ford Raptor. I stole this idea from user "steelman_built". No function at all, but I liked the way it looks.

What product did you use to paint the grill? Any link to the lights you used? Looks great!

Sorry I do not know what paint was used. I had it done at a shop near me which has covered jeeps in it completely. It was described as "thin bedliner, without chunks". It looks like plasti-dip, but it is much stiffer. I would ask the shop about it, but I am in a dispute with them about an unwanted wheel wobble feature they added and cannot resolve.

Installing them: I stuck mine onto the grill, which is part of the hood (I considered making some type of mounting bracket to hold them in front of the radiator and behind the grill, which would make wiring a lot easier. I just don’t have the tools/skill to do it correctly).

I routed the wires along the underside of the hood, eventually following the wiper fluid hose (pic on right). Pick what wire to add them to by sticking the leads into the wire terminal while hot. I spliced mine into the right front headlight assembly wiring harness with marine heat shrinks, then wrapped it all back up (I am not good at soldering yet).

Note there are cheaper light options on ebay, but I went this route because the pics and reviews were good.

Thanks for the reply! Sorry to hear you're having trouble with the shop, i know how frustrating that can be. The lights look awesome, it adds a little attitude to the truck.

I added a Thule Motion XT XXL Roof Box. It holds all the kiteboarding gear, minus the boards. In a few weeks it will be carrying skiis. The truck needs to be washed, but its been too cold to use a hose.

Nice ride SkiBike, I bought a 2018 trd sport myself, it was mostly “murdered out” at the dealership. I swapped black lugnuts and modified a set of tundra wheel caps to put on it. Plus TRD valve stem caps. Other than a tekonsha brake controller this thing is like it was rolling off the dealers lot.

Do you love your roof cargo carrier? I need one and am wondering if it’s worth the price if it fits nice.etc.

My biggest complaint with the sequioa we picked up is my lack of trunk... thought I would hate the bench seat more.
( went from a 2004 4Runner and Sienna)
Wanted a suburban but we are quite the Toyota family had a 83 celica that I loved :)
