Did your Sequoia have the automatic adjusting shocks prior to you installing the lift? I have a platinum with the automatic adjusting suspension and I have been told I can't lift the rear of my rig.....

That’s the deal with the Platinum, mine is a limited so not the air adjust suspension.

I did the install myself, being a shade tree mechanic. I’ve also had some previous experience installing a ToyTec lift on a 04’ Tundra with my buddy and a spacer lift on a 00’ Tacoma. As far as the ride it’s a great improvement, I described the original ride as a grocery getter, kinda soft yet smooth. With the ToyTec suspension it feels stiffer and more balanced yet it sucks up big bumps just perfect. I am very satisfied with it.

Thank you, this is perfect timing as I’m ready to pull the trigger on the same lift kit.

Is your rig the same one featured on ToyTec’s website?

I thought this Sequoia looked familiar...Its on the Iron Bull site. I am planning on getting the defender 4 with light tabs. How do you like it? Does it weigh down the front end?

I really like it! It is heavy but I took that in consideration with the toy tech springs up front. If you are stock you might notice. Also note I used a engine hoist to install it because there are modifications required for proper fit, so rolling it in and off was nice and much easier this way. I was able to keep headlight washer sprayers tucked in. A few more things: tow hooks need to be removed or just turned around like I did. And the paint/coating is great but the bolts need to squish through the coating. I’ve re torqued the bolts a few times to get it tight.

I am satisfied with the air intake, fit and finish is in point. Just be prepared to “hear” the motor more.

Just joined as well. Also have a 08 4wd and would like to know more about the brakes and led headlights you chose. Thanks

Nice, I’ll be happy to share any info I have. As far as the headlights on the SUV I am still stock. The lights I mention are bumper mounted auxiliary driving and fog lights. As far as brakes I am happy with the Power stop. They are drilled & routed for cooler braking power. They work and look great. I am still stock Toyota calipers.

@Bheath303 Hey! I just bought the defender 4 ironbull bumper but I am having issues with figuring out how high up it goes (I have a hose that goes across the front end that the OEM bumper covered). Do you have any pictures of your installation with the hood up with new bumper and one with just the OEM bumper off?

I got it installed tonight, took a little bit of cutting and removing some extra parts to get it mount up.

OK now I dont feel so original...I thought of the new truck as a trusty black "warhorse"...but the kids and wife decided on Sherman as the name it should be since its just a big snub nosed Tank of a truck.

Guess im not the only one that felt the Sequoia invokes the name of the "Sherman"
