Oh I painted them with a textured flat. The sandy grit gives a non skid surface safe for the family during wet weather.

Very Nice, which model/size did y'all order? I've heard the frames on these trucks are on the thin side, did you experience any issues when welding them in place?

No issues at all while welding. Frame is strong. I think they are the HD sko.

These have paid for themselves on my first trail ride last year. Bounced of a rock and just a little paint scratch as you can see above. Also makes access roof rack much safer.

Jim,

Not to hijack your thread but I'd like to see some info on your solar panel. I'm installing a dual battery system on my Sequoia and would like to install a panel to assist with the aux battery. Perhaps another post in the electrical section?

I'm planning Stubbs sliders for phase 1.5. Hopefully before I head west this summer.

Nice looking rig!

How much did you guys score these for? Just curious. I am having Billy do mine for the ease of it since I'm waiting on my bumper. Think he said $255 or so..

Yeah thats what he charged me also but I just added onto my bumper order so the actual price maybe more, I was paying shipping on the bumper anyway figured I could sell them worst case...

Yes I think Stubbs was a little more than that. So you talked with Billy?? How are the bumpers coming along? Have you ordered your Gobi ladder yet?

Bumpers are almost finished. Mine will be last since I asked Billy to figure out how to put the fold down table on my half swing out. He made it seem like next week or so though
Gobi ladder not yet, but soon.

Funny I asked about doing a small table on the half swingout as well but he said it was to small. Oh well we will see what happens.

Looks like the plate is hanging below the frame a little, is there a reason for this? Were they designed this way or did you opt to move them down some to keep the sliders low?

They are designed to be flush mounted but yes I wanted them a little lower. I was concerned at first about hitting the low mounting points but that will definitely not be the case since their is a lot of other lower hanging fruit like all my skid plates and such. I've hit the skids and the sliders but have not even come close to the slider mounting points.
