Just set my 2001 2wd up with 5100's and 2862 springs. Front at 4th setting, factory springs. Gained 3" of lift front and rear. Only thing is when I hit a speed bump or drop off a curb, I get a load thump from rear suspension. Noticed first 4 coils at top of 2862's all touch under normal load. Any thoughts on my situation?

So 4th notch (second from the top) on the front. I went with the 3rd notch, but other than that, same. I have the same 4 coils touching (see photo). But I only got just over 2 inches. And I don't get that sound in the rear. Not sure. Did you reuse the rubber housing with the springs? Did you put the B spring on the drivers side and A spring on the passengers side. IDK. But there's lots of smart folks here, maybe someone else knows?

Thanks, I need to switch the springs, and did re use the rubber cushion. Meant to say, loud. Almost seems like if there was weight in the back it might not happen. Going to look over everything.

Shot in the dark. Do you think you could have gotten the 2865 spring instead of the 2862? 2865 is good for 3 inches.

Went this route. Total travel now 3 3/4". No more loud bang. Shock extenders.

Hah. Sweet drawing.

I saw the energy suspension bushing on the table and bought that too. Did you end up using that?

Yes. 1) shock extender. Modify to 3/4" (19mm) to fit Sequioa. 2) energy bushing kit for sleeve use only. Using as a reducer in Bilstein 5100 to go from 19mm to bolt size to mount at fork on shock extender. Do not use high speed/fast cut drill bit. This was the hard part, shock extender is alot of metal.

I installed OME 2866’s and 5100’s for FJs. The springs gave me a good lift (not sure how much because I didn’t measure before installing them) but I think I’m reaching the maximum extended length of the 5100’s which is why I bought extenders.
