Yes - a little more wear/tear on front drive parts and of course lower fuel efficiency (usally about 1mpg or so). In general, I only turn my 4wd or lock the center diff if I anticipate I need it. Vehicle feels 'lighter' with only 2wd on. Luck and enjoy.
So it starts most of the time, so key is good. Have you read the odb2, regardless of whether a CEL light is on, it may have a pending code (not set yet but on the way)? If you don't have an odb2 reader, go to auto zone or like place, they'll read it for free.
I'd suspect a throttle position...
The 5.7 is tough, long-lasting yet has an achilles, cam tower oil leaks - not earth shattering but can smell, drips onto exhaust shields and if you want to have it professionally repaired can be expensive (14-16 hrs of labor). I love my '15, gets 16.1 around town and not sure on extended...
