here for product design research; what are the typical lift heights for the first gen Sequoias?

Hi, 2-3 inches is the typical lift range. 3-4 years ago people pieced together components to create the lifts. Josh at 1stgenoffroad.com has put together a great business serving the Toyota crowd. If you check out his website you’ll see the packages he offers. On my 2004 Sequoia I have OME 2885...

Tire, Wheel & Suspension Setup Rubbing Question...

This was noted in one of Sal's threads, but over on expedition portal there are pics of modifications to clear larger tires. It's worth registering to see the info from Jose Wong and Sal. https://expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/2004-tundra-adventure-cab-build-adventure-thread.127989/page-50...

    Gas gauge and paint matching

The fuel gauge in my 04 does not read accurately. It will rise and fall without reason. I picked up parts to replace the fuel pump, filter, and sending unit. I'm at 170,000 miles.

Replace coolant line tee connectors on engine near firewall

I replaced the plastic tees and hoses on the 04 Sequoia tonight. There are other write-ups out there so I'll just share the tips that helped me. Prior to starting I drained half a gallon of coolant from the radiator. I'm not sure it was helpful since I still had coolant come out when I removed...

Use a big prybar to pop it out past the clip. Or use a big punch and a hammer to drive it out.

    Speaker Wire Colors? Gen1

I know this may be a little late, but if you use a volt meter set to DC. Attach the leads to each wire. When the red lead from the meter is on the positive wire you'll have a positive reading on the meter. When the red lead is on the negative wire then the reading will be negative on the meter...

    Pull during braking after lift.

I wound up installing the Crown Performance brake lines up front with new calipers, pads, and rotors. Pull persisted. Replaced rear brake calipers, pads, and rotors. Will install Crown Performance lines when I have more time. Problem persisted. Installed SPC front upper control arms. Got it...

Brake upgrade to 2007 4runner sport calipers and rotors

Putting this modification on hold. I ground the caliper tabs down to about 15mm thickness and the caliper is offset on the rotor by a decent amount. I'm putting 13WL Sequoia calipers, OEM pads, and OEM rotors on for now.

Brake upgrade to 2007 4runner sport calipers and rotors

I'm going to pick up another set of calipers from O'Riellys and see if they are different from the Autozone 13WH calipers.

Brake upgrade to 2007 4runner sport calipers and rotors

I confirmed that it is the front brake rotor for an 07 4runner sport with 17" wheels. The sport model is 2WD, correct? I don't see a listing for a 4WD 17" rotor. https://parts.olathetoyota.com/auto-parts/2007/toyota/4runner/sport-trim/4-0l-v6-gas-engine/brakes-cat/front-brakes-scat

Brake upgrade to 2007 4runner sport calipers and rotors

I read all the descriptions on sequoia-forums and the expedition site before buying any parts and did not see anyone describe the issue I came across. That's why I asked about how much material was removed from the caliper housing where it sits on the edge of the rotor, not the tabs or the...

    Rear hatch strut upgrade?

I bought strong arm rear hatch struts for my 1999 4runner. They were much stronger than stock. Amazon has them for the Sequoia...
